Lil Wayne Signs Stephanie Acevedo to Young Money
She joins Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian, Chanel West Coast and Shanell
Singer Stephanie Acevedo is the newest signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, the label announced earlier this week.
The confirmation comes after months of photos showing Acevedo posing with YME heads Wayne and Mack Maine, dating back to October last year. Young Money also shared a new video with Acevedo covering Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love," while showing off her figure beachside.
Acevedo is from Miami and of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent, according to a post on the local website The 305 from 2013, and she has previously worked as a model, singer and ring-girl with the Championship Fighting Alliance MMA league.
She joins Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian, Chanel West Coast and Shanell on Young Money's roster of female artists.
Young Money, Lil Wayne's imprint on Cash Money Records, is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.

Lil Wayne talk about his new single and maybe his last album
Lil Wayne chatted this week about trying something different in his approach to promoting his upcoming and possibly final album. In a recent interview with ESPN rapper Lil Wayne spoke about the connection of music and sports and the impact it had on his current promotion for Tha Carter V.
During the conversation Wayne talked about using athletes to promote his album.
“Carter V Season” was all Kobe. He came up with it. I saw that and thought, That’s dope as hell, so that’s what we’re calling the [album] campaign. I thanked him. Then we thought about Floyd.”
We knew Floyd had a fight coming up. So all eyes were on him. I have his number, so I had my homey hit him up: Can you put this video of Drake out, as a little tease? He did [on April 30]. And it worked. That s— was crazy. I told him I appreciate him. He said he’s down for whatever else. That’s Floyd — down for whatever.
The YMCMB captain stated that he believed music and sports were connected through the youth. “Music is youth, sports is youth, and to the younger players, music is their motivating force,” said Wayne.
Wayne continued the interview with speaking on his upcoming and highly anticipated album Tha Carter 5. He mentions that “growth and maturity” is what it all comes down to.
Still no release date for Tha Carter 5, but for now you can catch Wayne in the latest installment of his “Weezy Wednesdays” below.

HARTFORD, CONN. - Notre Dame swept the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball major awards as senior guard Skylar Diggins was named BIG EAST Player of the Year for the second-straight year. Guard Jewell Loyd was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and Muffet McGraw took home BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors.
Diggins, who also was the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year for two-straight seasons, helped her team go undefeated in league play, while posting an overall record of 28-1. Diggins helped lead the Irish to their second-straight outright BIG EAST regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the 2013 BIG EAST Championship presented by American Eagle Outfitters. It was the first time the Irish were undefeated in league play (16-0).
Diggins averaged 17.3 points per game, 5.9 assists in all games and 18.5 ppg in conference play, second in the league. Diggins wrapped up the regular season ranked 21st in the nation in assists per game. She tied for fourth nationally with the most assists in a single game, dishing out 14 against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 31. In a win against DePaul on Feb. 24, Diggins recorded a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. She also became the school’s all-time steals leader with 86 this season.
Freshman guard Jewell Loyd played in 28 of the Irish’s 29 games so far this season, starting all but one of those. She is fourth on the team in scoring with 11.7 ppg and ranks second on the team with 5.3 rpg. In conference only games, Loyd chipped in 10.9 ppg and 5.3 rpg. She was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week four times.
Muffet McGraw has led a team that ranks third nationally in scoring offense (80.8) and fourth in scoring margin (+25.0). After winning the regular-season title last year, the Irish were expected to drop production after losing seniors Natalie Novosel, Devereaux Peters and Brittany Mallory to graduation. Notre Dame has finished as the runner-up for the national title for the last two years. The Irish, who were picked to finish second in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches’ Poll, are also fourth nationally in field-goal percentage (.467) and free throw percentage (.790). ND has a +11.8 rebounding margin, which ranks third nationally. McGraw won her 700th game this year at Villanova on Feb. 5. She enters the postseason 707-257, with 619 of those wins coming in 26 seasons with the Irish.
