The mother of Andre 3000, Sharon Benjamin Hodo, was found dead in her Atlanta home

The mother of Andre 3000, Sharon Benjamin Hodo, was found dead in her Atlanta home.

Sadly, this all happened on Andre 3000′s 38th birthday. Andre 3000, who was born Andre Lauren Benjamin was raised by his single mother, who sold real estate around the Atlanta area.

According to reports, police and ambulances have been up and down the street of the home where Sharon Benjamin Hodo (mother of Andre 3000) lives at. As details remain unknown, it has been reported confirmed from a close family member that Sharon has passed away.

Reports state that she was in her early 60’s and lived in Rex, Georgia. Stay tuned as we’ll update the story when more information is known.

No word yet on cause of death, but other Atlanta rappers have begun tweeting their support.

Bless the soul of Ms. Hodo and God ease the pain of the family of Andre Benjamin.

Miguel is undoubtedly having a moment right now

Miguel is undoubtedly having a moment right now. The 27-year-old singer burst onto the scene last summer and has since won a Grammy, was wooed by Kelly Clarkson at the very same event, teamed up with Mariah Carey, and spawned many unfortunate gifs following his epic fall at the Billboard Music Awards.

But Miguel, who made TIME magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and is of both African-American and Mexican-American decent, is not one to shy away from controversy. The singer took to Twitter this weekend to express quite a few thoughts:

According to the Urban Daily, Miguel's rant was prompted by a tweet from a fan who said the singer sold his soul. "Don't be an idiot," replied the singer in a now-deleted Tweet, then continued on with with the above series.

Though the singer warns in his Twitter bio "Dont follow Me, I'm trouble," his over 500,000 followers took his opinions to heart, retweeting and commenting both for and against his beliefs

''Someone Is Always Mocking Up Fake Tweets''

Amanda Bynes is now claiming that the onslaught of Twitter disses she's hurled at pop superstar Rihanna over Memorial Day weekend weren't actually from her. The troubled former teen star says that someone has been posting fake tweets under her username.

"I saw a bunch of mocked up tweets about me bashing Rihanna in my mentions," she tweeted. "I'm followed by so many people that someone is always mocking up fake tweets so I feel the need to address them! Rihanna and I met and I'm sure we'll be in a music video together one day! That's one of the mocked up images, they took photos of me from outside and morphed them onto someone else's body. I am allergic to marijuana and alcohol but I smoke tobacco. Why does Rihanna smoke weed and not get in trouble for it but I smoke tobacco and people think I'm on drugs? I refuse to be treated like someone I'm not, which is why I fought for myself and am suing everyone involved. I don't need to go to rehab. There is never a drug or alcohol in my system! I'm sick of all the lies! What would you do if someone accused you of things you didn't do and yet you still had to be in jail at all over it!"

I just see a lot of potential in him

Gucci Mane Explains Chief Keef SigningAtlanta rap star Gucci Mane spoke recently to XXL about his Brick Squad imprint. Gucci plans to showcase his ever-expanding roster of talent; he says that fans can expect a Brick Squad mixtape in coming months.

"I'm just working on my Brick Squad group album which will drop this summer. It'll be me, PeeWee Long way, Young Thug, Dolph and of course Chief Keef," Gucci explained. "I even got songs with Waka on there. I'm just gonna drop a collection of all the best songs we've been making. I dropped a mixtape for every artist on my label, so now I feel like it's just time to put our album together and show everybody the chemistry we got together. [Waka?] There was more of a miscommunication and things got misconstrued. But we got too much of a good thing. Whatever we got to work out, we always work it out."

Gucci also explained what he feels Keef brings to the crew.

"He a big fan of mine and I just see a lot of potential in him. I feel like all these years I've been in the rap game, there's a lot of things that I wish I could have did a different way," Gucci said. "So I just feel like if nothing else, I just want to give him some advice so that he can just enjoy his career. Just show him that trouble is so easy to get into. It's really more of a big brother thing. There's a business arrangement of course, but I just really like him as a person. He hard. He for real. The young people take to what's real, what they perceive as authentic."

LIL WAYNE CANNED BY MOUNTAIN DEW Over Emmett Till Lyric

Lil Wayne will no longer "do" Mountain Dew ... the soda company announced it's DROPPING the rapper over a rap verse in which he compared the beating of Emmett Till to rough sex.

Wayne was a major spokesperson for Mountain Dew --starring in several commercials. Wayne began appearing in Dew ads in early 2012. Mountain Dew is owned by PepsiCo.

It's unclear when PepsiCo will stop running ads featuring the rapper.

Weezy came under fire back in February over a verse he dropped on the song "Karate Chop" ... in which he said, "Pop a lot of pain pills, 'bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels ... beat that p***y up like Emmett Till."

FYI -- Till was 14 back in 1955 when he was beaten beyond recognition, shot and dumped in a river ... after he was accused of flirting with a white woman in Mississippi. His open-casket funeral and murder trial were early flashpoints in the civil rights movement.

Wayne had sent a letter to Till's family -- saying he's sorry their feelings were hurt by the song ... but the family REJECTED the letter, saying the statement "falls short of an apology." Leave comment
